The Creative Coalition, TV Guide Magazine, and TVInsider.com announce the first round of honorees at this year’s inaugural Television Industry Advocacy Awards to be held in Los Angeles on September 18th. Award recipients include 2015 Emmy Award nominee Jeffrey Tambor (Amazon’s Transparent) for his work with youth empowerment; 2015 Emmy Award nominee Alan Cumming (CBS’s The Good Wife) for shining a spotlight on LGBTQ issues; Emmy Award winner Alfre Woodard (TNT’s The Last Ship) for her leadership in the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities’ Turnaround Arts Program; actor Beth Behrs (CBS’s 2 Broke Girls) for her involvement with The Rape Foundation; actor Constance Zimmer (Lifetime’s UnREAL) for supporting the efficacy of the arts in education; and executive producer Neal Baer (CBS’s Under the Dome) for his leadership with The Global Media Center for Social Impact. Additional recipients will be announced shortly.
The Television Industry Advocacy Awards salutes those leaders in the television industry who use their power of celebrity to advocate for charitable and social causes. The Awards will be held on Friday evening, September 18th at Sunset Tower Hotel, West Hollywood, CA at 5:30 pm. This invitation-only event will honor television’s most significant actors, show runners, and executives for commitment to their respective causes.
“The Creative Coalition was galvanized to encourage leaders in the entertainment industry to use their mighty voices and unique platforms to influence positive change in the world. The Advocacy Awards celebrate those leaders in the television industry who use their influence to advocate for the common good,” said The Creative Coalition CEO Robin Bronk.
