On Location: The Los Angeles Video Project Now Accepting Submissions

On Location: The Los Angeles Video Project is a community outreach multimedia program that celebrates and enlists LA’s remarkable pool of filmmakers. Any filmmaker living in the city is invited to create a short film that highlights the city of Los Angeles in a positive light. Formats can range from narrative, documentary, animation, music videos and commercials. By engaging the creative filmmakers of the LA community to act and serve as “Ambassadors of LA”, NewFilmmakers LA, in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles, is able to share a creative, inspirational insider perspective into the diverse cosmopolitan city and its surrounding neighborhoods.

The videos submitted into On Location: The Los Angeles Video Project compete for over $50,000 worth of prizes and services. There are two categories: 2-5 Minute Videos (Documentary, Narrative, Commercial and Music Video) and 2 Minutes or Less (Documentary, Narrative, Commercial and Music Video.) All videos selected for competition will screen during the On Location award ceremony. This year’s grand prize will receive a Production Prize Package valued at $40,000 from Alternative Rentals plus a $1,000 cash prize. There are twenty additional awards presented through the celebration, and two Audience Choice Awards.

The On Location Premiere Event will take place Saturday, October 10th at the Hollywood Center Studios. Deadline for Submissions is August 28th, 2015 at noon (PST).
