mpressionista Films was founded by Zack Resnicoff in 2009, in order to facilitate creation of his edgy narrative, commercial, branded entertainment, fashion, and music-video work.
Zack is an alumnus of the NYU Graduate Film Program, where he studied under Spike Lee. Zack has written, photographed, and directed over 500 hours of original content for Film, TV, and the Internet. In June of 2006, Zack received an AICP award and subsequent inclusion of his commercial work in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. Zack began his commercial career with production company Radical Media, and after three years, he left to launch Impressionista Films.
Zack’s short film, “The Clearing,” which he wrote, directed, and photographed, won the Hamptons International Film Festival, and was an official selection of dozens of other film festivals world-wide. Zack recently completed, “The Chase,” a film with Hilary Duff and Norman Reedus. The film is part of the launch of Femme, Duff’s new clothing line for DKNY. In 2019, Zack directed a Super Bowl spot for CBS Sports.
Some of Impressionista’s recent clients include NBC, AMC, HBO, Disney, Spike, Sony/RCA Records, Hugo Boss, L’Oreal, Avon, DKNY, Lexus, Macy’s, Cablevision, Time Warner, Comcast, Reebok, Timberland, Ford, SAB Miller, General Mills, Proctor & Gamble, and Aquafina.
