When we started Kworq, we had a specific purpose in mind – we wanted to build a firm that strongly centered its design work in narrative and emotion. We felt that some of our colleagues and competitors, though very competent designers, had increasingly begun to place too much emphasis on aesthetics, technical newness, or the commercial mechanics of the design business.
Design for us is optimizing the best solution possible based on known constraints and objectives. In doing this, we organize around a powerful, irresistible and memorable story as the backbone of everything we do. We call our approach story-driven design, because we want to connect our purpose to the design of compelling, emotionally driven narrative first. Of course, we bring beauty, technological savvy, and a sharp commercial focus to our work. But without the heart and soul of an engaging story, we feel there will always be something missing.
