Jim Parker, founder and owner of Riverview Studios, is an award winning 36 year veteran filmmaker. A specialist in lighting and directing, he is sought out for his directing abilities. He has produced hundreds of successful documentary programs during his career, many winning awards for our non-profit clients.
He has been internationally acclaimed for his humanitarian work in Uganda, for his leadership role in the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and for his work with Catholic Charities, where he is the recipient of the 2010 Light of Hope Award for Burlington County. Mr. Parker is Past Chair and current Vice Chair, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen Board of Trustees and a member of the Board of Trustees of New Jersey Policy Perspective.
Mr. Parker believes in the power of the documentary film as a means to tell stories of hope. "People want to have something to believe in, and they want to support projects which will succeed. By telling the stories of an organization's successes, through real people, in their own words, viewers can empathize with the people in the story, and empathy is the key to motivating them into involvement."
Mr. Parker is founder of “Parker Mother Child Foundation” a 501(c)3 Foundation. PMCF is an organization dedicated to helping mothers and children in Africa. It's intent is to bridge the gap between regulated government assistance and the actual needs of the recipients by providing direct aid in the form of scholarships and microfinances.
His work in Uganda has won him international acclaim, but the results of the Foundation’s work speaks volumes. The young women who are PMCF scholarship recipients have graduated as nurses, teachers, dentists, lawyers or doctors. From their hard earned education, each woman has returned to help build and strengthen her communitiy in Uganda. http://parkermotherandchild.org/
