Variety 411 listee Ease Entertainment prides themselves in “redefining production payroll and technology.” In addition to assisting the motion picture and television production industries with production incentive advice, outfitting productions with qualified production accountants from their database of accountants and assistants, and providing amounting training courses, they offer the industry’s leading software designed to help with production management, cost reports, commercial service, accounting and payroll.
In November, Ease Entertainment announced Bison Capital had closed a major investment in the company. Bison Capital is a Santa Monica, California based firm that makes growth capital investments in middle-market companies (both public and private) for expansion, acquisitions and balance sheet recapitalizations. The Bison Capital investment marks the second major financial move Ease Entertainment has made in the least two years, following the acquisition of Scenechronize in 2012. Scenechronize is a software tool designed to create, distribute, access and store most standard documents used by productions of all types.
With products that service most major studios and many independent production companies across North America, Ease Entertainment plans to use Bison Capital’s investment to further develop and launch pioneering technology.
“While the medium for film and television has gone digital, the process for making film and television projects remains manually-intensive and paper-based, and doesn’t leverage technology,” said Ease Founder and CEO Mike Rose. “Our strategy is rooted in leveraging tomorrow’s technology to create solutions that automate many of the administrative tasks that bog down productions. Bison shares this vision, and has made a substantial investment in the firm which allows us to continue to develop and launch pioneering technology. We are tremendously excited to partner with the entire team at Bison.”
