411 Publishing received exciting news from the Apple headquarters September 21st. The LA 411 app was approved and available for download through its iTune App Store. The mobile version of LA 411 ushers the industry’s leading qualified production directory into the latest mode of all-inclusive connectivity – the mobile device.
The free, dedicated app has been specifically designed to maximize the powers of the Apple hardware: iPhone, iPad, and iTouch.. Using Apple’s multi-touch technology, the user can easily and rapidly flip through screens and pull up listings with the swipe of a finger.
The app provides all the information professionals in the production industry have come to rely on in the printed and online directories. All listings have been vetted through a background check of three professional references. The listings appear under twelve specialized sections, including Camera and Sound Equipment, Props and Wardrobe, and Post Production. Unique to the app is the ability to dial listee’s phone numbers directly, summon the GPS coordinates to their locations, and save frequently used listees within a “Favorites” section.
Additionally, the new app also connects to the LA 411 Facebook and Twitter feeds and the monthly enewsletter, providing an outlet to stay connected to the news and happenings of the Below-the-Line community.
“We expect the LA 411 app to be a game changer for our users,” said Sean Killebrew, Publisher, 411 Publishing. “It’s fast, incredibly user-friendly and of course portable, so it’s an ideal companion for someone on set. The app has been optimized for all of Apple’s products and the best news is… it’s free.”
