Light Iron continues to expand. A member of the Panavision family located of of Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles and a leader in post production workflow and services is expanding its Episodic Division with the addition of colorist Jeremy Sawyer and new infrastructure dedicated to television services.
In a press release distributed by Light Iron December 10th, 2015, President Michael Cioni stated the company's addition of the television services infrastructure was in response to rising demand and the unique needs of television clients.
“We’ve never believed in a one-size fits all approach to post. Episodic content moves at a different pace and duration than features, and this expansion allows us to support our television clients as equally as we support our theatrical clients.”
The physical expansion includes a second TV bay, a new Online Room, and a Dailies Department for in-house, overnight dailies at Light Iron’s Los Angeles facility. New hardware has been added specifically for television workflow, such as UHD and HDR monitors and dedicated SAN storage. A similar expansion is planned for the company’s New York facility in early 2016.
The personnel expansion is led by the hiring of Jeremy Sawyer, a colorist with an extensive track record in broadcast content. His resume includes acclaimed programs including "The Walking Dead", "The Closer", "South Park" and "The Affair."
“I’m so excited to join Light Iron,” says Sawyer. “I’ve always known the company to be at the forefront of post. This is a great opportunity to build an episodic team within Light Iron’s unique mindset and Panavision’s legendary service.”
Under his new position at Light Iron, Sawyer will continue working "The Walking Dead's" sixth season, as well as some programs slated for the History Channel and OWN. Light Iron will be announcing additional hires for the Episodic Division in the near future.
