Reid Burns Joins VFX Legion In Key Senior Position

VFX Legion announced Reid Burns, former Senior Vice President of Labodigital, has joined their Burbank division as Senior Vice President of Business Development and member of their executive team, reporting to founder James Hattin.  Burns will oversee the expansion, strategic direction and operation of VFX Legion’s feature and television portfolio, which includes projects such as Hardcore Henry, Suits, How to Get Away With Murder and The Purge 

During his time at Labodigital, Burns served as Senior Vice President and led the company through a period of outstanding growth. Burns' career began as a color timer, and over 30 years has amassed a track record of over 100 films across post supervision, color and visual effects. He has also managed laboratory operations at Deluxe, followed by tenures as Director of Global Sales and Technology at Consolidated Film Industries and Senior Vice President at Fotokem. 

Prior to Labodigital, Reid was COO at Reliance MediaWorks, a role which included oversight on such titles as Avatar, Prometheus and Men in Black 3. Earlier in his career he founded the VFX and title post production house The Image Resolution and served as CEO of the VFX/DI and boutique post house Ollin Studio in Mexico City.

VFX Legion is currently working on a slate of current and upcoming projects, including DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder. Burns will be based at VFX Legion’s Burbank, California headquarters.
