Canon returns to the 2017 Sundance Film Festival from January 21st until January 24th. The Canon Creative Studio can be found at 592 Main Street in Park City. In addition to getting a chance to view the new Canon EOS C700, visitors to the Canon Creative Studio may participate in hands-on workshops, enjoy panels highlighting DPs of many distinguished festival films, and even take in a special screening of "The Calling" followed by a filmmaker Q&A.
Not to be overlooked, the Canon Creative Studio will also feature a special portrait studio with Michael Ori, founder of Ori Media and Studio Eleven in Salt Lake City.

This seminar will show how to utilize HDR Reference Displays on shoots for optimal delivery and grading of HDR/Wide Color Gamut projects. With the emergence of HDR capabilities and standards for theatrical projection, broadcast, and broadband delivery, there exists an opportunity to express creative visions never before possible. This presentation provides the information needed to properly evaluate imagery in HDR acquisition using reference displays on set, near set, and in finishing.

Director Tyler Stableford and cinematographer Russell Carpenter, ASC explore the versatility of the C700’s low light capabilities and vast dynamic range, creating a stunning portrait of life in Colorado’s high country. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, moderated by Canon’s Senior Film and TV Advisor Tim Smith.
