Top Three Items From Emmy Gifting Suite

Those talented and fortunate individuals recognized for their hard work during Emmy season spend a great deal of time promoting their work, and partying at industry events which, while it may not sound like work, becomes a second job when you have a 5:00am crew call waiting the following morning.  Celebrity Connected’s Emmy Gifting Suite offered the revelers a haven to break away from the glitz, glam and constant promotion to indulge, explore and laugh at the array of products vendors were pitching

The 2016 Emmy Gifting Suite included everything from a portable –and inflatable -sofabed (The LayBag www.laybag.com from Rabatt –admittedly it was a very cool offering from the German company) to assorted cannabis treats from companies like HighLIfe www.naturalcannabis.com, which caters to celebrities. Incredibly useful kitchen produce Unstick – www.unstick.ca – a re-usable and non toxic cooking surface that requires no oil for food to slide right off was demoing their quality product with a top notch chef making vegetarian and meet based samples. Oh, and our good friends from Mold-A-Willy, last scene in the MTV gifting suite -were back – manning their booth quite literally with a posy of studs.

Ice cream was the major draw, offered home made by the talented crew from Blast Ice Cream www.blast-ic.com as well as via The Curious Creamery, a brand featured at diverse establishments including Amazon and Walmart.  They offer a kit one can make without any dairy – or ice cream maker – in the comfort of their own home!   While I appreciate the dedication all the assorted food vendors (pies in a jar were featured in multiple booths) and beauty retails, I’m going to pick three products that extremely impressed me.

Arriving, apparently, at the same time as everyone else who was invited, I managed to push my way through the crowd to the Bhu Foods booth.  I’m glad I forced my way to Sierra Tipton and her crew.  Bhu Foods specializes three different energy bars created from all natural ingredients and no sugars! Broken down into three tiers each with a highly unusual core:  Vegan with an organic pea protein base, Primal with a grass-fed whey protein base and Paleo with a egg white protein, the bars were delicious, most and surprisingly, sweet!   If you are an energy bar fan, you must check out bhufoods.com

Uashmama still blows my mind.  The Tuscany, Italy based product was created by Marco Marconi – a former leather handbag maker.  Marconi took a washable paper, weaved the fibers, leatherized them, and transformed them into sturdy, weatherized bags.  The booth had a display that included planters, grocery bags and purses that have all be made with the leatherized, washable paper.  If that isn’t impressive enough, the items were extremely fashionable (have you seen many Italian purses that were not fashionable?)  Uashmama offered a wide variety of colors and styles, and has a complete catalog of products consumers may choose from.   Check them out at shopuashmamausa.com

While the suite offered a number of impressive health and beauty products – I’ll throw in a mention to Jafra – the makers of Royal Jelly who have infused their famous moisturizer into wonderful shades of lipstick that 100% nourish the lips www.jafra.com – I’m going to give my last pick to Pink House.  This product line originated by Tracy Olesen as a means of helping her sister, Karen Sjoberg, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2013.  The two siblings worked together to craft everything from deodorants to shampoos that were free of toxins and chemicals that Sjoberg’s body couldn’t tolerate.  Sjoberg did not win the battle over cancer, however Olesen continues to create a full range of products that are free and clear of any unsafe and unnatural material.  Constantly studying the market, Olesen proved completely knowledgeable about the benefit of her products and how they compared to other “natural” products on the market (some surprising meet the small percentage of natural ingredients required by federal organizations to use the misleading title.)  Check them out at shoppinkhouse.com

Another natural product I must mention is Bitchinskin.  Creator Grace Fuss stood over a pile of what looked like moss.  The concoction, made of sea salt, cane sugar, virgin coconut oil, grape seed oil, peppermint oil and matcha safely exfoliates all the skin on one’s body and its natural vitamin E leaves it soft and healthy.  And – due to the natural of the ingredients, it is safe to use on the face and mouth.  If you ingest some, you have nothing to worry about – although the sea salt does take away from the matcha.  Visit them at www.getbitchinskin.com
